The biggest challenges leaders face aren't technical—they're human. And they're often invisible.
This became evident during a decade in aerospace engineering at Boeing where I solved complex technical problems, designed systems, led teams, and developed leaders. The engineering was straightforward. The persistent problems were always about people and patterns.
That's why I became a coach. I trained with iPEC, earned my PCC through the ICF, and became an Energy Leadership Master Practitioner because I wanted to help leaders solve the challenges that engineering alone can't fix.
I've since worked with leaders across sectors—from individual contributors to C-suite executives—and the pattern is consistent: capable leaders get stuck in ways that don't serve them or their teams. They're moving fast, working hard, but often not headed where they truly want to go.
That's where The Inertium comes in.

Two simple principles – inertia and momentum– can help you understand where you're headed, and how to intentionally change direction.
Understanding Your Motion
Inertia
Objects at rest stay at rest. Objects in motion stay in motion.
Inertia is what keeps you moving in the direction you're already headed.
Momentum
The speed and direction of an object.
Momentum is your trajectory and how quickly you’re headed there.
There's nothing wrong with inertia.
It’s powerful— it has helped get you to where you are, and will keep you going. So in order to make change, we must account for it.
The process is simple—it works for individuals and for teams:
✓ Recognize and overcome inertia
✓ Direct your momentum
✓ Build and sustain it over time
Everyone experiences inertia. Once we accept this, we can choose more intentionally where we want to go and how to get there.
Every choice builds momentum.
